The Money Mindset You Need to Hit Big Financial Goals
Mar 12, 2022
I've started paying really close attention to my money mindset lately, and I want to take you behind the scenes on how my brain works.
So here's what it looks like when I'm observing my thoughts:
Heart: I really want a Porsche 911
Brain: Because of the supply chain issues their cost has gone through the roof, but if you want that, I don't see why not - we can put a plan in place.
or
Heart: I want to build a custom dream home. I want to work with a kick ass architect and build my sanctuary then work with an interior designer to make the interiors gorgeous.
Brain: Ok, sounds like a multi-million dollar project, but if we broke that down in the phases of construction and knowing we don't have to pay for it upfront in full - we can make a plan to make it work. It will probably be a 3-5 year project, so why don't we start scoping out locations and potential architects?
My brain never tells my heart no.
And I realized today that that is a superpower. Instead of giving into the million and one reasons why something can't possibly happen - I am confident in my skills to figure it out. And that is a skill I cultivated.
It's a skill you can cultivate too.
But more importantly if you have big audacious financial goals for your life (which I know you do), the ONLY way to achieve them is to:
1) Believe they are possible
2) Make a plan
3) Take action out of that belief
If your brain is always shooting down your heart and telling it no, then guess what's going to happen? You're not going to do anything differently, and you're not going to get the result you wanted.
So ask yourself, how does my brain respond to my heart when it comes to my big goals that cost a lot of money?
And what results has that yielded so far?
